For Virginia Kindergarten Teachers: Science Class Observation and Data Collectors Freebie

I love science! Being a part of an IB school taught me to start planning from science and social studies and then branch out to literacy and math activities from there. This help me so much because I can then really lay down a rigorous unit from a single strand.

Please feel free to download this 36 page document even if you don't teach in Virginia. Maybe you can copy the layout to help your own planning. Click on any image to download.

I use the whole class observation sheet when I need to jot down notes on each student. I use numbers for quick reference, but you could put names in each box instead. ALso, you can use one observation page over the course of the unit and just use a different color for each day you observe, noting the color code and date. Observations could be from Morning Meetings, Science Centers, Homework, or quick assessments.

For each unit I make a mini science portfolio with the observation notes on the back cover. This will help students with goal setting and parents understanding the science goals. Now, onto TpT to get my shopping on! Big Sale today:)
