D.E.A.R. & Ramona

One of my most favorite childhood reading experiences was reading Ramona and relating all of Ms. Cleary's wonderful words to my young life. Even my Pink Pearl eraser brought me great joy after reading about Ramona's excitement over her brand new Pink Pearl.

So today, I browsed my e-mail and saw that D.E.A.R. 2010 was tied to my favorite books and wait for it...a new feature film!!! Smiles! Happy Dance! Check it out...read it to your class and get those Pink Pearls ready! ^_^

Readers Celebration

Every year our lovely librarian Mrs. Palmer plans a wonderful reading celebration to cheer on the little readers of Lake Lucina Elementary towards their reading goal. This year we all dressed up as our most favorite book characters.

The best dressed (student voted) character in each classroom would receive this lovely handmade ribbon.

Reading Pep Rally for K-2 classes.

I was Camilla Cream from David Shannon's A Bad Case of Stripes.
Mrs. Allen dressed as Franklin.

Kendrick's home made wolf costume.

Stephanie's hand made Cat in the Hat costume.

Voki for Fast Facts

We used Voki in the classroom to create fast facts about our topics. Students recorded facts via phone and then were able to choose the character and background for their Voki. We posted the videos onto our class web page.
